Evora, Portugal - Polarsteps
Evora, capital of the Alentejo province. A province we really like because of its diversity. Evora has a long history starting in the roman times. It has a relax vibe with many nice restaurants, bars and little shops. Evora is a student city and has one of the oldest universities of Europe. In Evora you find a chapel full human bones. A place of worship. The walls and ceiling are partially covered with human remains. Monks began to create this work of art in the 16th century, as there was an abundance of cemeteries. There is a moral to this artwork; Show the living the vulnerability of life and the transience of the material world….
