Mae Hong Son, Thailand - Polarsteps

The Karen represents a tribe which is located in Myanmar, Laos and Thailand, they live in peace in most places but the Myanmar has something against them and a true genocide has been happening in those minority, those ones had to get through the border and found refuge in Thailand. They are free to live here but they can't own any land and try therefore to live from living products of their making like scarfs and clothing. This is one of the small village open for visit, there is a bit of a dilemna when you get to places like that where you have to pay just to enter and see people in "their real habitat", because of the long-neck tradition (getting lost though), tourists come and see them. While it's a way for them to get money they need, it does feel wrong to see people acting instead of living their life.
