Sumter County, United States - Polarsteps
The Florida National Cemetery is the second-busiest cemetery in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Cemetery Administration.
It covers 517 acres where 131,000 veterans and their dependents have found their final resting place, and as many as 24 more are being added to that number each day.
Throughout the cemetery there are isolated committal shelters for use by families who wish to hold committal services prior to burial of their loved ones. During my visit, I witnessed 3 of such committal services, including the firing party, firing three volleys.
Very overwhelming to witness and respect for those who fought for their country, and indirectly for The Netherlands as well.
