We traveled to Wellington on Christmas Eve and had a lovely time in the city. We woke up at a friend of a friend's house (thanks Amanda & Alex), and boarded the Interislander Christmas morning to cross the Cook Strait. The ship arrived in Picton (south island) three hours later.
Culture Note: Rarely anyone decorates for Christmas, but they do wear Santa hats.
