Puerto Varas, Chile - Polarsteps

From Puerto Montt, we carried on to Puerto Varas on the same day as we had a free accommodation there. Although it was a short 20 km ride, it was quite exciting because it was the first time for us riding on a highway. In Chile, it is allowed to ride on the shoulder of the highway. The "ruta 5" goes all the way from the North to the South of Chile. In Puerto Varas, we could stay with a friend's host family for two nights. With Luli, we drank a "submarino" (a hot milk with Belgian chocolate) and we were invited to breakfast. Her parents made us feel welcome at their house and shared great conversations and delicious meals with us.
