Samarkand, Uzbekistan - Polarsteps

We start the day very relaxed, enjoying the so called 'best breakfast in Uzbekistan' in Antica B&B (which is indeed awesome!) where we also meet some motor bikers who started in Vladivostok to go to London and bicyclers from Germany.. Although we visited the main Samarkand highlight the Registan yesterday, our tour-guide (Bradt Uzbekistan) promises that our goal of today is 'the real star of the show': Shah-i-Zinda (old mausoleums). We first have to change money at the Bazar and visit the Bibi Khanym mosque (beautiful) and Mausoleum (not so beautiful, we bargained the entry price to half.. But still feel ripped off when we are inside) .. After a walk through the graveyard we enter (via an slightly illegal entrance) the Shah-i-Zinda.. The Bradt was right again.. Most be one of the most beautiful places ever created!
