Esteribar, Spain - Polarsteps

Nachdem uns unsere Nachbarn im nächsten Bett des 70 Betten Schlafsaals um fünf geweckt haben, ging es kurz vor halb sieben schon wieder los. Anfangs optimistisch machten uns ab circa der Hälfte unsere Füße ziemlich zu schaffen. Die Landschaft ist hier zwar schön und der Weg auch schattig, aber die steilen und steinigen Abstiege sind schon echt eine Zumutung. Nach 23km und reichlich 6h haben wir es nun endlich geschafft und legen im Privatzimmer die Füße hoch. Die Herbergen waren natürlich alle schon voll, aber wir haben hier einen richtigen Glücksgriff getan und erstmal alle Klamotten in die Waschmaschine geworfen. Our neighbors in the 70-bed-dormitory woke us up at around 5 a.m. and so we started again at 6.30 a.m. We were optimistic at the beginning but after around halfway our feet started hurting again. The landscape is beautiful here and the way is shady but the steep and stony climb-downs are just an imposition. After 23km and around 6h walking we now finally arrived and relax in our private room. All other Albergues were full, but this place is just awesome and first thing we did was putting all our clothes into the washing machine.
