Chifa, Peru - Polarsteps
Today was a very special day and one of the main reasons for this trip. As part of his desired legacy it was the wjsh of Tania's father to help the local school in the villagr je grew up.
So with a lot of help of the family and friends a library was set up (with the name of the father ona plaque), rewards were presented to the best performing kids of every class year (by every family member and to my surprise also 1 by me).
It was a great surprise for me to see such pleasure and joy on the kids faces when they were able to go and read and play with the other available toys.
We enjoyed a very a very good lunch with sangresita as a starter and fried guinea pig as the main course. It's the specialty of the house as they farm them just on the other side of the wall!
Afterwards a mango tree was planted in the garden (with some ashes of the father) and when we were all done we went a little bit outside the village and to climb on a small rock formation were he and his brothers and sisters always use to play. We almost all climbed up and enjoyed the view and laid some of hos ashes on a very special spot.
Our day ended at a chifa for a very yummy dinner and then it was time to gp to bed. Tomorrow is our last day and we have one more thing to do with the final ashes.
