Après de longs instants d'échanges avec la Opini family, les high-five en remorque et avec enfants de retour d'Afrique, l'adorable binôme Thérèse et Pierre, il est temps pour nous de les laisser, de quitter leurs horizons pour suivre le nôtre. C'est toujours un moment difficile mais les souvenirs resteront, tout comme l'espoir de se revoir... A force de voir la mer, l'attirance de l'horizon prend de l'ampleur et il est temps d'aller voir à l'autre bout. "Shipping", un nouveau terme à mettre dans notre cervelle. Voilà plusieurs semaines que nous tentions de trouver la meilleure des solutions. La situation tendue avec Israël, la mer rouge et le Yemen ont engendré pas mal de chamboulement dans le monde du commercial maritime : nombreuses lignes supprimées, explosion des tarifs... Au vu de la taille de Cargol, le mode container est impossible. Le mode "Roro" (style ferry) est quasiment introuvable dans le secteur. Il ne reste plus que le mode Flat Rack où le véhicule reste à l'air libre, sanglé sur un plateau qui est transporté par camion puis via une grue au sommet des containers sur les bateaux. Il paraît qu'il ne se perd qu'environ 2000 containers par an en mer...😳 Départ de Dubaï, Sohar, Salalah ? Là était la question. Notre position géographique à ce moment là était stratégique car nous étions presque à équidistance de ces 3 points de départ potentiel. Given the size of Cargol, container mode is impossible. The 'Roro' mode (ferry style) is almost impossible to find in the sector. All that's left is Flat Rack mode, where the vehicle remains in the open air, strapped to a tray that is transported by lorry and then by crane to the top of the containers on the boats. It is said that only around 2,000 containers a year are lost at sea...😳 Departure from Dubai, Sohar, Salalah? That was the question. Our geographical position at the time was strategic as we were almost equidistant from these 3 potential departure points. The last fares arrived, and the decision was made: Salalah.
