Un point m'appelle dans cet Empty Quarter : la Uruq Bani Ma`arid Reserve... Sur un site fédéral Saoudien qui regroupe 10000 choses variées, j'y déniche la demande de "Délivrance d'une licence de visite protégée". Manque de bol à la fin du process Servor Error xxx. Pas grave j'y fonce. Chef des rangers super sympa : "Attends vers 16h et l'on t'emmènera faire un tour..." Yahouuuuu ! 🤪 C'est parti pour 2H au top avec un ranger dans son Toy dans les dunes et les plateaux à l'observation et la surveillance du programme de ré-insertion de la gazelle d'Arabie. Les animaux sauvages ont disparu de ce désert suite à la chasse et au braconnage pour leurs cornes. C'est surprenant en fait la végétation que l'on peut trouver dans ces zones... Grâce à l'oeil aguerri du ranger nous verrons les bestiaux de loin car encore très craintifs. Never mind, I'll get on with it. Super-friendly head ranger: "Wait until around 4pm and we'll take you for a walk...". Yahouuuuu! 🤪 Here we go for 2H at the top with a ranger in his Toy in the dunes and plateaus observing and monitoring the Arabian gazelle re-insertion programme. The wild animals have disappeared from this desert as a result of hunting and poaching for their horns. It's surprising, in fact, the vegetation that can be found in these areas... Thanks to the ranger's experienced eye, we can see the animals from a distance, as they are still very shy.
