Sucre, Bolivia - Polarsteps
We regret not taking a voice recording of ALL the ladies in the bus terminal shouting SUCREEE SUCREEE (like a fishmonger on the market). Fortunately, that was our next destination, so we quickly knew where to buy the tickets! 🎟️
We spend a view days to discover the constitutional capital of Bolivia🇧🇴. Fun fact: Bolivia got two capitals, La Paz is the second capital, claiming all political clout after winning a civil war. However, you could also name Santa Cruz the third one, being the financial centre.
Sucre is called the white city and lives up to its name with it's centre filled with white buildings⛪. Apparently the citizens have to white wash their houses yearly by law.
We enjoyed staying here for a view days. We finally got some air again, since it's located on a height of "just" 2500 meter. However, we still moved slowly visiting the most important sights: the Mirador, the park with a mini Eiffel tower replica (however the dino-playgarden was more fun), the interesting casa del libertad (do the guided tour!!) and the catedral.
No day went by without bumping into our Uyuni friends Richard&Tarja. At the second night, after a spontaneous meet-up, it was so much fun that it quickly turned 2 o'clock... 🍻
We can really recommend stopping by in Sucre for at least a view days and enjoy the beautiful architecture, nice eat-ins and the general ambiance!
