Cusco, Peru - Polarsteps

Gringo capital of Peru, Cusco! ๐Ÿค  Three times we came and three times we left. It's the city where all tourist have to go through and you'll either like it or hate it (or like us a bit in between). All our time we slept in the same hotel. A cute colonial building, though it was a bit noisy as well. We both don't forget about the night (when we had to wake up at 4 a.m.) that Liselot yelled to some loud Israeli: "YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES ON THIS WORLD!" Have to admit, that felt good ๐Ÿ˜Š. The best thing about Cusco is probably the variety of food. And the good coffeeโ˜•. We found a great vegan restaurant where we spent many afternoons. A great break from the meat-heavy south American cuisines! And probably the best innovative restaurant we had so far!! Well what can we say about our time we spend in the city... โŒš The first time we spend in the city, there were still some musea to discover. So we learned more of the (pre) Inca-cultures. ๐Ÿ’กFun fact: when the Inca's lost their relatives, their bodies were mummified. They still considered the mummies part of their families and the most important persons even had a place on the table after their death. There is even a story of a woman marrying a mummy for the sake of lineage. The second time was after Machu Picchu, we used our time to book our next trip (the jungle). And had great fun exploring the nearby countryside visiting some religious sites and trying Guinea Pig! (Not really recommendable). In the last days that we spend in the city, we visited the Sacred Valley - you will learn more of that in a separate post ๐Ÿ˜œ. Oh and we saw many random ceremonies. A not so fun fact: Frank's phone is stolen while taking the video (with Liselot's phone). Hopefully FBTO is our friend ๐Ÿ’–.
