Jardín
La Herrera, Colombia - Polarsteps
Next stop: the backyard of Colombia; Jardín, which means... garden! 🪴🌻🪻Being on the road is often a big part of the adventure and this time the trip didn't disappoint us. Another 60 kilometer to go... We traveled in one of these amazing, colourful, themed-park vans🛺. And it took a bloody 5 hours to reach our final destination!!! 60 KILOMETERS in 5 HOURS!!!
Worth it!
We loved the abundance of flowers and super green slopes of Jardín. We directly booked for an extra night and stayed five nights in our room with (almost) private balcony, including a hammock!
And what did we undertake? Next to nothing! Liselot is slowly starting with her hunt for a job [whenever somebody has any recommendations.... 🤗] At lunchtimes we slowly made our descend to the village to fill our stomach and play some games. On some days we made some small hikes or took in some hoppy 'smoothies'.
One of the highlights of Jardín is the garden of the Cock-of-the-rock's. One of the most fascinating birds we have ever seen. It's cocky. It's bright red. And it got a coup which many Elvis lovers would be jealous of. Every afternoon they find their way to the garden to show their colors and lure in the females. A 100% chance to see this beauty! (Oh and an andean motmot!!).
