Zaino, Colombia - Polarsteps

The coastal area around Santa Marta has more to offer: national park Tayrona! This beautiful national park has the best beaches of Colombia. Not all suitable for swimming though! Together with Paul 🇫🇷 we explored the park and hiked the 8km till the beach called "Piscina", which is indeed a propper and more secure swimming spot. Other beaches are closed off, signs telling hundreds of people drowned here and looking at the wild water we understand the reason for it 🌊. None the last, those beaches were postcard perfect without the usual plastic pollution, gringo's or boom boxes. (Those we found on the beaches where you actually could swim. And we made the awful miscalculation that we happened to be there on the weekend). It's also an area to spot monkeys and a possibility for crocodiles. Fortunately, we had luck with the first one 🐒 (two types!!) and not with the latter 🙈. In the hostel, Camille 🇧🇪(Paul's girlfriend) waited for us for a refreshing dive in the swimming pool. Which was... NOT. The hostel is beautiful with open dorms and great food, but we never experienced a swimming pool that was this warm (super clean though!). We had another lovely evening in good company and the day after we moved on to see more of Colombian's Caribbean! 🌴
