Cartagena, Colombia - Polarsteps

Our third and last time in Cartagena.🤟 Some hate it, others like it. Well we can definitely see the charm of the artsy Getsemaní and the historic walled centrum. And we have the advantage that street sellers normally don't harass couples in their effort to sell hookers or white stuff. Well our third time. As a big city all roads come and leave from here, so we travelled in and out of the city and now it will be our last resort. Yet maintaining our relaxed lifestyle, only one post will be enough to summarize our stays. Let's do this by giving some tips: 🥣Eat açai for breakfast at Beiyu, we went trice! And if you rather opt for a heated dish: the Beiyu veggie dish is amazing as well! 🐒Walk through the park and spot monkeys, sloths and iguana's!! In the middle of the city centre, how awesome! When you cannot find them, search for groups of tourists. Or look puzzling into the trees and some locals will hint at you. 🏛️We always like to visit musea. This time we went to the inquisition museum, the best place to learn more about the history of Cartagena. We skipped the Oro-museum, since our visit to the Gold museum in Bogota was so 'succesfull'. The musea de Naval might be interesting for everyone who likes Naval strategies and especially cool is to look inside a submarine, among other navy vehicles. ☕Cafe Época served us well for lunch and coffee. Be prepared, for the coffee is strong! 🛍️The obligatory souvenir shopping. Since it is our last destination, it was finally the time to fill our backpacks and hopefully make our loved ones at home happy!🤗 Cheaper stalls you will find at the border of the park and expensive clothes in the mall/centre. 🍕 The city got plenty of fish restaurants. However, fish are friends not food 🎶. And we are totally done with the Colombian cuisine, so we found our way to the Italian cuisine several times. Definitely try Basilica and Da Silvia, both serving delicious pizza's 😋. 🌬️Last but not least, our aircon-room. A must. And now the end is near, our flight is waiting for us.
