Coyhaique, Chile - Polarsteps

We perceived the ice on our tent as a sign to run: Northward! 🏃 Our goal is to lounge in Chaitén for some days and flee for the upcoming bad weather! But as our motto is perfectly sung by Frank Turner🎶: "If you want to go to your destination quick, than take a fucking flight" We did it slowly. First of all, we hitchhiked to Coyhaique. Before describing the city, the route also needs to be mentioned! From the backseats of our shared ride we had great views of the rocky landscapes with trees showing their rich autumn colours.🍂 Our goal of the day, Coyhaique, is a lively town that had some ambiance (for a change). The centre had a welcoming character, a cool pentagon street pattern surrounding the main square, a decent supermarket and a cosy restaurant to eat out! We were stuck in Coyhaique for two nights, since the next bus only leaves twice a week! Again, this ride deserves to be mentioned, what a stunning lush landscape we went through! Some kudos for the Busdriver for stopping at the middle of the road to enjoy the views of Queulat's hanging glacier, plus, later on, pointing out some dolphins swimming in the fjords - just next to the road! 🐬 Arribamos en Chaitén! We are thrilled, because we have a bed for the next four nights!! 😃
